Rev Simon Tan is an ordained minister and had been an Associate Pastor with his home church from 1991 to 2008. Since 1 Jan 2009, he has stepped out of the pastoral ministry to give attention to the retreat work. Before taking on the pastoral portfolio, Simon was a missionary with Operation Mobilization (OM) for seven years with five of those years in Latin America onboard the gospel ship, MV Doulos. Both Simon and Rinda are graduates of Bible College of New Zealand (renamed as Laidlaw College) since 1990 and upon returning home to Singapore have been giving contemplative prayer retreats in early 1991. Since then they have taken the retreat work to various parts of Asia and beyond as well as to the international community of the Body of Christ.
Simon and Rinda are both trained and experienced Spiritual Directors since 1998 and work closely with Spiritual Growth Ministries of New Zealand, providing onsite supervision for those undergoing Spiritual Directors’ Training program. They are also trained and certified as Midlife Direction Consultants in USA, equipped to offer midlife direction workshop and retreat.
Both Simon and Rinda continue to worship in their home church at World Revival Prayer Fellowship and in between giving retreats, they provide one-to-one ongoing Spiritual Direction, journey with certain cancer patients, read, study, write and enjoy their morning walks. |
